5 players from Eritrea’s female National U-20 team have absconded in Uganda during CECAFA championship
Five players who are representing Eritrea in the CECAFA U-20 Championship are no where to be found.
The tournament is held in Uganda and it is believed that the players aren’t willing to go back to their country hence absconding.
This mostly happens when representatives from poorer countries go into a tournament at countries they feel is more superior than theirs.
CECAFA issued a statement in their reaction to the aforementioned incident and indicated they are working with Ugandan Police officials to find the missing players
“The matter has been reported to the Police in Jinja and investigations are ongoing. CECAFA, FUFA, and the Police are doing their best to locate these players,” a statement reads
