Shatta Wale and Wizkid becomes the first African acts nominated for the Video Music Awards VMAs

Ghanaian Dancehall sensation Shatta Wale alongside Nigerian Afrobeat star Wizkid have both grabbed nominations at the Video Music Awards.

Their nomination cam through their representation on Beyoncé’s Album which continues to bring give them high recognitions on the international platforms.

Shatta Wale’s feature on The track Already has it’s video nominated in the category of ‘Best Art Direction’.

While Wizkid’s feature on the same album with the song Brown Skin girl has also gotten a nomination in the category of ‘Best R&B’.

The MTV Video Music Awards is an award show presented by the cable channel MTV to honor the best in the music video medium.

This is the first time that an Artist based in the African continent has been nominated for the awards.
