Dr. Bawumia sworn in as Chairman of police and Arm Forces council by Prez. Akuffo-Addo

President Akuffo-Addo has sworn in his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the Chairman Of the Ghana Arm Forces and Police Service respectively.

Dr. Bawumia was sworn in a short ceremony that took place on Tuesday 27th October 2021 pursuant to Articles 201 and 202 of the 1992 constitution.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Bawumia admits there’s a big task ahead in a fast changing world that we currently found ourselves in.

He however believes he is up-to the task and ready to wirk hard to leverage the image of the two security services in a bid to maintain their integrity and mission.

“On behalf of the members of the Councils, I underscored the arduous task ahead in a world of increasing complexity and accelerating change, and assured Mr President and the good people of Ghana that we will work hard to leverage the image of the security services into an excellent status in line with the vision and mission of their transformation agenda.” He stated

The Vice President also noted the vital need to roll out requisite and strategic interventions to defend at all angles as well as maintaining law and order.

“As a team, we will roll out the requisite strategic interventions to protect and defend nationals and non-nationals and also strengthen the maintenance of law and order with the support of all.” He concluded
