Ghana Police Service drops details of Shatta Wale’s Arrest

As we reported Earlier, Shatta Wale has been picked up from his hideout by the Ghana Police Service.

The musician was declared a wanted person since yesterday after news went viral that he some Gunmen pound on him around East Legon and opened fire on him.

The police service only confirmed his arrest in a shot statement to make the announcement but did not actually state their reasons for the arrest.

In a new statement made available by the security agency, they made it clear the Shatta Movement Boss was picked to assist in investigating his involvement in spreading false information to cause fear and panic.

The statement reads :

“The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October, 2021, at 8.59pm.

He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.”

The Service concluded with an intense warning to the public to desist from spreading false informations.

“As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted.”
