Reigning Premier League Champions Accra Hearts of Oak have beaten Ashanti Goals on penalties to win the 2020/2021 FA Cup trophy.
Ashanti Gold were aiming to reward themselves with the FA cup following their hardworking season but a dramatic penalty shootout end means they ended the season trophy-less.
Both sides started the game on a good note with high pressing attacking tactics, however that failed to yield any good results in terms of taking the lead in the first 45 minutes by both sides despite coming close several times.
The second half became more of a midfield game with Ash Gold siting deep guarding their defense with great saves from both ends forcing the game into extra time.
After another 30 minutes of play it all comes down to Penalties and Hearts got the better of the Miners edging them in some dramatic fashion. The win means The Oak boys have won the double for the 6th time in the clubs career having won it in 1973, 1979, 1990, 1999, 200 and 2021.
