The head pastor of Christ Mission Church who also doubles a proprietor in the Mfantseman Municipality has taken his own life.
The 47 year old preacher reportedly hanged himself in frustration after his wife attempted to take over his properties following their divorce.
The incident which took place at Etiii Sonkwa in the Ajumako District of the Central Region according to Information circulating in the media space, the revered preacher walked straight to his father and confided in him on Wednesday morning that circumstances are not going well in his favor and all he asks is for the father’s prayer because his soul is in God’s hands and may die anytime soon.
Things quickly turn sour when the pastor informed his father to go relax as he was also sleepy and wanted to take a nap in his room.
He then tied a rope to the ceiling fan and hanged himself. Confirming the incident, the deceased father Peter Hammond stated that his sons demise is as a result of the frustration and torment from his wife.
“My son spoke to me about the horrible treatment meted out to him which is causing him to suffer and hence needs my prayers. I offered prayers on his behalf but he kept on telling me his soul is in the hands of his maker and his body is useless on this planet” his father narrated
I later called his elder brother to brief him on what had transpired and he quickly rushed home. Upon arrival, he rushed to his brother’s room and noticed the windows was locked and door was also locked.” He continued
He further made it known They forced their way into the deceased’s room only to discover that the preacher had hanged himself.
The Makessim Jedu Police were informed of the incident and the body has been sent to the morgue pending autopsy.
