The lead lawyer for the President in the 2020 Election Petition, Lawyer Akoto Ampaw and other lawyers and professors have filed a memorandum to Parliament to reject the Bill that criminalizes LGBTQ+ activities.

The memorandum was signed by 15 lawyers, professors and members of the academia in a strong not to criminalize homosexuality in the country.

Recount that Ghana was thrown into a state of debate when activists of LGBT opened an office in the country’s capital Accra.

After it was met with negative reactions, states security men went all the way to shut down the place sending Ghanaians into jubilant mode.

An action was taken led by MP for Ningo Prampram, Honorable Sam George with a bill presented to parliament to criminalize the act and it’s activist.

While the bill is yet to be passed, Joy News journalist Charles Ayitey has made a revelation that Lawyer Ampaw is opposing the bill with a memorandum that tends to argue there has been no law in the country against the act.
