The 2020/2021 SRC executives at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale have allegedly constructed a student bus terminal at a whopping cost of Ghc63,147,62.
The construction of the single bus terminal cost the SRC executives Ghc45,160,62. While the fabrication and installation of a single relaxation bed cost them Ghc18,014.85.
Similarly a sister University SRC not long ago also inflated a simple bus by almost 100,000 Cedis. Another SRC sometime ago too doubled the appearance fee of a famous musician during their SRC week. They invoiced 150,000 Cedis and paid him 80k.
Etc etc etc.
It is very unfortunate that this practices are happening in our Institutions considering the manner in which we lambast Politicians for inflating budgets and the fact that we tag ourselves as the future leaders of the country.
