The use of contraceptives is no longer a secrete in today’s world as many women out there turn attention to it to avoid unwanted pregnancies.
Postinor 2 is undoubtedly one of the largest brand that has been producing contraceptives, however there are two different label of Postinor 2 available in the market with one suspected to be fake.
Notably, one has green colored label with the other one having a red and while label colors as seem below.
- The one with the green packaging is the original Postinor 2 brand produced by the pharmaceutical company called Gedeon Richter Plc.
- The one with the green packaging is FDA registered.
- For the one with the white packaging, we’ve been reliably informed that, it is not FDA registered hence, it’s illegal on the Ghanaian market.
- As to whether the white one is fake or not, we can’t emphatically state. However, for the fact that FDA has not approved it should give you a clue.
- Somewhere last year, our FDA confiscated huge quantities of the white one and arrested the culprits who are allegedly Nigerians.
- Note that, the drug itself is called Levonorgestrel. Postinor 2, Lydia, Levon 2 etc, are different brands (from different companies) all containing the drug, Levonorgestrel.
