Arsenal’s midfield General Thomas Partey has broken the consecutive clean sheet kept by Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez since he left Arsenal.

The Argentine goalkeeper had kept clean sheets in his two previous games against the Gunners prior to today’s game.

Martinez grew up through the ranks at the Emirates as Arsenal’s backup goalkeeper and an injury to then first Choice Leno gave him the chance to showcase his talent to the football world.

He then left Arsenal to join Aston Villa after he was told clearly by Mikel Arteta that he will not be benching Leno as a first choice goalkeeper soon.

He later described that move to Villa as the best decision in his career and has since had the bragging right against his former club.

Black Stars deputy captain Thomas partey fired past him from a corner kick and become the first player to score past the Villa goalkeeper since he departed the Emirates.
