Peter Amewu host Italian Ambassador to deliberate on How to revive Ghana’s railway sector

The Minister of Railway Development, Hon John Peter Amewu has yesterday received the Italian Ambassador to Ghana H.E. Daniela d’Orlandi in his office for the first time since assuming office.

According to the MP, their deliberations centered on how Ghana can tap into the Italian railway industry’s knowledge and experience considering the Akufo-Addo government’s accelerated program to revive Ghana’s railway sector.

“Some Italian firms(Team Engineering and many others) are currently involved with projects within Ghana’s railway sector and at today’s meeting, we discussed the possibility of having mutually beneficial arrangements between Ghana and Italy’s railway industries.” He stated

“Under the leadership of H.E President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Ghana aims to fully revive its railway sector and to use our railway system to deepen economic trade within Ghana and with our neighboring countries” the MP added

Also At the meeting was Hon. Kwaku Asante-Boateng (Deputy Minister of Railway Development (MP), Desmond Boateng (Chief Director, Ministry of Railway Development), and officials of the Italian Embassy.
