What Does Ronaldo’s Ballon D’Or position means for his career ?

For years, the The Ballon D’Or has been a two horse race between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi who both established a name for themselves as arguably the biggest stars to ever play the game and shared a total of 12 Ballon D’Ors among themselves.

Cristiano Ronaldo has five of those twelve Golden balls to his name having emerged victorous in 2008,2014,2015,2016 and 2017. Despite not winning any from 2018, he has always been at least in the conversation for a top 3 finish but moved straight to 20th even after a sensational return to Manchester United being their top scorer in the League.

Currently, We can all agree to the fact that the Former Real Madrid star is Struggling, Yes not only to adapt to the Philosophy of New Coach Ten Hag’s way of playing football but his general play isn’t a great one and doesn’t look like one that will improve anytime soon.

What this means is that, should he continue with this form, Ronaldo, just like Messi this year might not be ranked at all in the next couple of years when it comes to the best Players on the planet. For now, he is heavily living on the trend of his past achievements, we pray he bounces back as that will give myself and Football fans a whole joy once again but His current Ranking all but proved that age has caught up on him and we are likely to see the end of the Undisputed GOAT soon.
